The Sagarmatha Seeds team first created Yumboldt as a lineage of landraces imported from Afghanistan to Humboldt County, California, in the 1970s. Yumboldt is well-liked even though its genetics are kept a secret by the breeders. Yumboldt has a candy-like flavor with citrus and fresh berries layered throughout. Its complementary scent is stronger and has more spice and pine notes. Indica Seeds Yumboldt took first place at the 2001 High Times Cannabis Cup. Yumboldt can reach a height of about five feet in outdoor gardens, but it stays fairly short indoors. The strain adores sunlight, so growers inside should be careful to have the right wattage for the best results. Yumboldt is a good place for beginning cultivators to hone their skills while more seasoned cultivators will find it easier. In late October outdoors, Yumboldt reaches full maturity in 56 to 63 days. Yumboldt seeds are offered for sale commercially.

According to Pat, aka Mrs. BOG, the company’s co-founder, Sweet Cindy is a three-way cross between a Sweet Tooth #3 female, BOG Bubble female, and a male Cinderella 99 that came from a pack of Brothers Grimm Seeds. It is available from California seed bank BOG Seeds. Although the seed bank reports that the strain does best in humid, outdoor spaces with lots of sunlight and heat, Sweet Cindy is simple to grow both indoors and outdoors. It primarily has Indica lineage. When grown outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere, flowering takes 48–56 days, and on October 10 it is ready for harvest. According to BOG, Sweet Cindy produces dense, frosty, and incredibly aromatic buds. It has a potent grapefruit flavor and is thought to contain 18–22% THC. Zaza is an indica-dominant hybrid created by South Bay Genetics in California. It’s either a hybrid of Rare Dankness #1 and Blue Dream, or Scotts OG and Gas Station Bob, depending on who you listen to. Zaza is most frequently associated with pine, soggy earth, and chemically lemony scents. And it is said to have a similar flavor with spicy and tart undertones. Scotts OG and Gas Station Bob, or Rare Dankness #1 and Blue Dream, are the parents of the indica-dominant hybrid known as Zaza. It typically blooms between 56 and 63 days in length indoors and by mid-October outdoors. In the best circumstances, it is known to yield significant yields. Zaza thrives in warm, humid environments both inside using Screen of Green (ScroG) and outside. Zaza seeds are offered. Direct access to clones from those who are cultivating this strain may be possible.

One of the all-time most renowned and sought-after “Indica” strains is Northern Lights. The precise ancestry of Northern Lights, which is thought to be descended from Afghani and Thai landrace strains, is still somewhat obscure. Prior to arriving in the Netherlands, where breeder Neville Schoenmaker pioneered several Northern Lights phenotypes in the 1980s for The Seed Bank, an early iteration of Sensi Seeds, it may have originated in Washington in the 1970s. Northern Lights has been a legendary Indica strain in cannabis culture ever since Sensi Seeds first commercialized it in 1985. Three times between 1989 and 1992, the Cannabis Cup was won by Northern Lights #5, arguably the most well-known Northern Lights phenotype. Northern Lights seeds are currently available from Sensi Seeds in feminized, non-feminized, and autoflowering forms. Growing Northern Lights both inside and outside is not too difficult. It has relatively average height, 45–50 day flowering period, dense, resinous flowers, and dark green leaves. The best yields from this strain will be obtained when growing outdoors in a sunny, comfortable climate. There have been numerous reports of full-body relaxation and sedative euphoria as effects of Northern Lights. In addition, Northern Lights is renowned for its earthy, skunky flavor and sweet-and-spicy aroma.

Slurricane, created by the In House Genetics team, is a hybrid of Purple Punch and Dosidos. Thanks to the genetics of OG and Grand Daddy Purple, two strains known for having high levels of trichomes in their lineage, the strain’s indica-dominant flowers have a sugary coating. Slurricane is a favorite among growers due to its high yields of gorgeous, cone-shaped, purple-green buds. At full maturity, the strain grows to average heights and blooms indoors in 55–65 days and outdoors in early October.

The Dutch Passion Seed Company, based in Amsterdam, first discovered and propagated Night Queen, an Afghani landrace indica, in the 1980s. According to reports, Night Queen has a hash-heavy, citrus aroma that is spiced. Additionally, it has citrus flavors with undertones of spice and herbs. Due to its stabilized landrace genetics, Night Queen is an exceptionally simple indica to grow. When grown under ideal circumstances, the plant yields a lot of frosty buds. Even though Night Queen is a shorter, squatter bush, semi-humid climates also make it successful for outdoor growers. When grown indoors, the cultivar matures quickly, in eight to nine weeks. Night Queen seeds and clones are offered.

Granddaddy Purple, also called Grandaddy Purp or GDP, is a hybrid that was developed by breeder Ken Estes in Northern California in 2003. GDP was created by crossing a Purple Urkle and a Big Bud, and then backcrossing it with GDP. Granddaddy Purple typically contains high levels of caryophyllene, alpha-pinene, and humulene and has an average THC content of around 17%. This strain is ideal for use during the day or at night because, like the majority of indicas, it has been said to promote relaxation and sleep. GDP’s buds, a genetic winner, took first place for Best U.S. Indica in 2015 at the Denver High Times Cannabis Cup. The strain, which is obtainable in clone form from Dark Heart Nursery in Northern California, creates short, compact plants with close internodal spacing. Intense hues of purple, blue, green, and orange are frequently seen on leaves during their flowering cycle. Granddaddy Purple can be grown indoors or outdoors, but it thrives in a controlled climate. While outdoor growers can anticipate harvesting by late September or early October in the Northern Hemisphere and late March to early April in the Southern Hemisphere, the flowering cycle takes approximately 65 days to complete when grown indoors.
