A high-CBD hybrid known as Harle-Tsu was first grown in Northern California by breeders at the Southern Humboldt Seed Collective, also known as SoHum Seeds. The strain is a hybrid of a Sour Tsunami clone and a Harlequin male. The strain is high in the terpenes myrcene and humulene and frequently tests at 13–18% total CBD content and less than 1% THC, according to Phylos Bioscience’s 2016 testing. At the 2014 Emerald Cup, the strain took first place for best CBD flower. The event’s organizers tested Harle-Tsu in a lab, and the results showed 21.05% CBD and 0.86% THC. During the vegetative phase, the strain exhibits growth traits resembling those of an indica. Harle-Tsu is a short, stout, and bushy strain that grows a medium-yielding plant with low THC flowers and can be cultivated in a variety of environments. The plant begins low and branchy, grows substantial foliage, and eventually develops branches that reach the sky. The full maturation of the buds occurs when plants are grown outdoors around late September in the Northern Hemisphere or late March in the Southern Hemisphere, while indoor plants take about 56 days to reach their floral peak.

The breeders at Oni Seed Co. created Tropicana Cookies by crossing a Forum Cut version of Girl Scout Cookies with Tangie. According to seed bank Alchimia, it has a strong THC content and emits an earthy, sweet scent and tart fruit flavor with a hint of cream. The 2019 IC 420 Growers Cup’s Sativa division was won by Tropicana Cookies. Both indoors and outdoors, where it flowers in nine weeks or September, Tropicana Cookies is simple to grow. A central cola and sturdy branches are produced by the cultivar, which benefits from Sea of Green (SOG) or Screen of Green (ScrOG). Its numerous buds are big, dense, and resin-coated. In contrast to the other, one phenotype produces purple flowers. Alchimia claims that it has average yields that can be improved by using SOG or ScrOG.

Dr. William Courtney chose the high-CBD strain Cannatonic, also known as the CBD Queen, after receiving a packet of seeds from the strain’s original breeder, Spain-based Resin Seeds. Testing by SC Labs revealed that the resulting ACDC, which is only sold as a clone, has a 20:1 CBD-to-THC ratio and is incredibly high in CBD. According to Resin Seeds, the plant smells like a combination of cherry, diesel, gas, and Mandarin peel. In ACDC, myrcene is the dominant terpene. ACDC is the parent of several hybrids high in CBD. Thunderstruck (an S1 hybrid of ACDC and ACDC), Treasure Island (Swiss Gold and ACDC), HarleSin (ACDC and Harlequin), and Incredible Power (OmRita, BluePower, and ACDC) are four ACDC hybrids that Sin City Seeds offers with different CBD-to-THC ratios. Other notable hybrids include TOCI (ACDC and Xena), EMT (ACDC and Canna-Tsu), Valhalla (ACDC and Sky Dragon), Bodhi Seeds’ CBD Rich Blessing, and others from Love Genetics, Med Tree Seeds, and Bodhi Seeds. CBD Rich Blessing, a cross between ACDC and a CBD-rich Good Medicine male, has in turn been used by its breeder to produce a number of other CBD-rich crosses. The strain reportedly has average height growth, medium yields of large, dewy buds, and thin leaves. The strain thrives in warm, indoor environments. It is said to flower in 63–70 days, though it might take longer in colder climates. Beginner and intermediate growers with limited grow space may want to look elsewhere for a high-CBD plant because ACDC can be finicky. Short, bushy plants with thin leaves that typically reach a height of four feet are typical of the ACDC clone. Moderate levels of genetic variation were found in an ACDC clone named Harborside that Phylos Bioscience submitted for genetic analysis.

Allen Wrench is a sativa-leaning hybrid created by crossing Train Wreck with NYC Diesel, not to be confused with the straightforward L-shaped tool. According to reports, Allen Wrench has a very potent earthy aroma as well as a citrusy, sweet flavor with undertones of wood. These plants, which are said to reach a medium height, produce colossal, light green, trichome-frosted colas. Although Allen Wrench is said to be challenging to grow and needs support and trimming, seasoned growers can anticipate being rewarded with a plentiful harvest. This strain can produce up to 600 grams per square meter indoors and up to 800 grams per plant outdoors after a 70- to 80-day flowering cycle. The strain thrives outside in warm, Mediterranean climates, but Pacific Seed Bank, which sells feminized Allen Wrench seeds, claims that it performs best indoors under strictly controlled conditions.

Sensi Seeds, a cannabis breeder, developed Jack Flash as a cross between these potent genes and the highly sought-after Skunk growing characteristics in an effort to outperform the illustrious Jack Herer. According to Amsterdam Seed Center, the breeder in this instance crossed Sensi’s Super Skunk and Haze with Jack Herer Female to create trichome-rich buds with high THC and low CBD levels. At the Amsterdam High Times Cannabis Cup in 2004, the strain took third place for Best Cannabis. In an eight to nine week flowering cycle, Jack Flash vigorously produces swollen calyxes that are stacked on top of one another and heavily coated in resin. Sensi Seeds claims that Jack Flash grows very well both indoors and outdoors in warm, sunny conditions. Two phenotypes of the strain are said to exist. The indica is sufficiently short and compact to work with the Sea of Green (SOG) cultivation method. The sativa phenotype is preferred by the breeder because it can reach heights of up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) and carries many of the characteristics of Skunk and Haze, such as a potent aroma, an abundance of resin, and a larger overall yield.

Cinderella 99, also known as Cindy or C99, is a strong hybrid that leans heavily toward sativa strains. A few seeds were found inside a Jack Herer bud that Mr. Soul, the company’s founder, had bought in an Amsterdam coffee shop in the late 1990s. He developed one into Princess, a cultivar that reportedly offered a much more psychedelic high than other strains at the time. He then set out to develop a super-strain that would enable him to spread Princess throughout the entire world. To increase plant strength, he first crossed a Princess female with a Shiva Skunk male using the triple backcrossing technique known as “cubing” to produce the parent strain Cinderella 88. In order to produce Cinderella 99, the so-called Holy Grail of Hybrids, he bred Cinderella 88 and Princess once more. The fairy tale heroine, like the cultivar, had humble beginnings but blossomed into royalty, hence the name Cinderella. Due to the strain’s strong linalool content, consumers enjoy its fruity, floral aroma. The strain should be simple to grow, have higher yields, and be resistant to common diseases, making it suitable for both inexperienced and seasoned breeders. Due to its sativa genetics, this plant grows tall and bears fluffy, long buds in 56–63 days indoors or in early October outdoors. Cinderella 99 produces average yields indoors. In the right circumstances, the yield outside can be quite high. Both seeds and clones of Cinderella 99 are available.

Chemdawg and Alien Technology were combined to create Alien Dawg by The Cali Connection team. It tastes sweet, spicy, woodsy, and has a potent sweet berry aroma with a background of earthiness. According to laboratory tests that Pacific Seed Bank obtained, the strain typically contains 20% THC and less than 2% CBD. One of The Cali Connections’ prize-winning genetics, Alien Dawg, placed second in the Best Indica category at the 2014 High Times Medical Cup in Detroit. The wide, short fan leaves on Alien Dawg are typical of Indica genetics. The cultivar spreads readily both inside and outside, reaching average heights and becoming harvest-ready in about eight weeks. According to Pacific Seed Bank, this strain yields a lot.

Alien Abduction began life as a cross between Alien OG and Alien Dawg in the garden of Southern California-based Ocean Grown Genetics. Earth, sweet fruit, lemon, and pine are the most frequently mentioned alien abduction smells. Citrus, pine, soil, and sweetened nuts are said to be the flavors. An indica-leaning hybrid called Alien Abduction grows into stout, short bushes with thick stalks and branches. The strain prefers a mildly humid outdoor environment and is resilient to most environmental stresses. When raised utilizing the Sea of Green training techniques, Alien Abduction offers increased yields. The cultivar produces moderate yields of about 13 ounces of bud per plant indoors in 56 to 70 days and in mid-October outdoors. Seeds and clones of Alien Abduction are available.

Outer Space and Alien Dutchess were combined to create Blueberry Space Cake by Cresco Labs. Berries, tropical fruit, and spices are the strain’s most frequently mentioned aromas. Its flavors blend well with a palate of pepper, pineapple, and blueberries. It’s not too difficult to grow the hybrid strain known as Blueberry Space Cake. The strain favors a space where ideal growing conditions can be maintained indoors, but knowledgeable outdoor growers should be able to produce fruitful crops. In early October if grown outdoors or in seven to ten weeks indoors, Blueberry Space Cake blooms. There are no seeds or clones available for blueberry space cake.

Sapphire OG, a glittering hybrid produced by California’s Humboldt Seed Organization through the backcrossing of Florida OG and an Afghan strain. A sativa-leaning strain with an intense flavor and aroma of diesel, pine, chocolate, citrus, and flowers resulted from this combination. The breeder claims that Sapphire OG has between 18% and 24% THC, foliage that leans purple, and a potent blend of fruit, wood, and fuel flavors. Sapphire OG thrives both indoors and outdoors, but it is said to require some maintenance due to its rapid growth and flowering. This strain generates high yields of compact, elongated, resin-rich buds after an eight-week flowering period. Sapphire OG plants need to be harvested in late September or early October if they are grown outdoors in the Northern Hemisphere. Growers should prepare to harvest their plants in late March or early April if they are grown in the Southern Hemisphere.
