The Sagarmatha Seeds team first created Yumboldt as a lineage of landraces imported from Afghanistan to Humboldt County, California, in the 1970s. Yumboldt is well-liked even though its genetics are kept a secret by the breeders.
Yumboldt has a candy-like flavor with citrus and fresh berries layered throughout. Its complementary scent is stronger and has more spice and pine notes.
Indica Seeds Yumboldt took first place at the 2001 High Times Cannabis Cup.
Yumboldt can reach a height of about five feet in outdoor gardens, but it stays fairly short indoors. The strain adores sunlight, so growers inside should be careful to have the right wattage for the best results. Yumboldt is a good place for beginning cultivators to hone their skills while more seasoned cultivators will find it easier. In late October outdoors, Yumboldt reaches full maturity in 56 to 63 days.
Yumboldt seeds are offered for sale commercially.
