Hong Kong, a descendant of Sour Diesel, and Colorado Seed Inc.’s exclusive Nina Limone strain were combined to create the original Sumo Grande, which was produced in Denver. Customers claim that Sumo Grande’s enormous buds have a coppery undertone and smell of fresh citrus and woody pine. The strain’s flavors tend to be citrusy when burned, giving off a light, herbal smoke.
Colorado Seed Inc. doesn’t disclose its growing information, but some notes on cultivation are posted online. The strain thrives in outdoor growing conditions, reaching heights that necessitate regular pruning due to its sativa genetic make-up. Sumo Grande grows so quickly in the sun that it requires additional structural support to support the weight of its large buds. Sumo Grande blooms indoors in about 70 days or outdoors in mid-October, with high yields. Only clone versions of Sumo Grande are offered.
