The Colorado seed bank that houses Rare Dankness goes by that name.
The original Rare Dankness strain, according to RD Genetics founder Scott “Moonshine” Reach, was created by crossing a Ghost OG female with an inbred Chemdawg male from Colorado brothers Alex and Andrew at Reservoir Seeds.
The result of four generations of crosses was the Rare Dankness #1 male, arguably the most prolific version of the strain. It started out as a cross between the original Rare Dankness and a Ghost OG. After that, a Triangle Kush was added, and then another Triangle Kush was added after that.
From there, a Ghost OG and Rugburn OG hybrid was used to produce Rare Dankness #2, another male.
Rare Dankness #1 is a parent to several Rare Dankness hybrids, including Scott’s OG, Rare Darkness, and 501st OG, despite the fact that these varieties were never sold to the general public.
Reach claimed that the Rare Dankness #1 male, which is kept on hand for present and future breeding, gives hybrid strains it crosses exceptional potency, improved structure, and higher yields.
