Very little is known about the origins of Mars OG, just like the tiny green men who are said to live on our neighboring red planet.
Others speculate that the delicious strain is named Mars because of its scattering of bright, red pistils, and that this potent variety is possibly a clone-only phenotype of Fire OG. Others assert that the name of the planet alludes to a particular way of growing that begins indoors and moves outdoors before flowering.
With broad fan leaves and a shorter flowering time of 8–9 weeks, this otherworldly cultivar leans toward its Indica ancestry. Although the plant can be grown both inside and outside, it requires a skilled grower to move this clone-only plant outside prior to flowering.
The strain took home the top prize at the 2011 NorCal Cannabis Cup for Best Concentrate.
