Sensi Seeds, a cannabis breeder, developed Jack Flash as a cross between these potent genes and the highly sought-after Skunk growing characteristics in an effort to outperform the illustrious Jack Herer. According to Amsterdam Seed Center, the breeder in this instance crossed Sensi’s Super Skunk and Haze with Jack Herer Female to create trichome-rich buds with high THC and low CBD levels.
At the Amsterdam High Times Cannabis Cup in 2004, the strain took third place for Best Cannabis.
In an eight to nine week flowering cycle, Jack Flash vigorously produces swollen calyxes that are stacked on top of one another and heavily coated in resin. Sensi Seeds claims that Jack Flash grows very well both indoors and outdoors in warm, sunny conditions.
Two phenotypes of the strain are said to exist. The indica is sufficiently short and compact to work with the Sea of Green (SOG) cultivation method. The sativa phenotype is preferred by the breeder because it can reach heights of up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) and carries many of the characteristics of Skunk and Haze, such as a potent aroma, an abundance of resin, and a larger overall yield.
