Except in the Pacific Northwest, Black 84 is a bit of a mystery that’s difficult to locate. While some claim that it was stolen from the University of Washington’s medical garden in the 1980s, others assert that breeders crossed Mendo Purps and Black Domina to produce it.
The fruity, pungent, and spicy aromas of the Black 84 strain are most frequently reported. Supposed flavors include sour fruit, caramel, and nuts.
A cross between Mendo Purps and Black Domina is thought to have produced the indica-dominant strain known as Black 84. Black 84’s indica dominance results in short plants with thick leaves. Black 84 is known to yield well under the right circumstances and has an average flowering time of 56 to 63 days. It is best to grow the Black 84 strain outside.
Both seeds and clones of Black 84 are not offered.
