Doug’s Varin is a rare strain that Dougie’s Farm unintentionally discovered. It is high in the cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV), hence the name. Doug grew seeds from what he believed to be Harlequin, so he is the only one who is aware of its genetic origins.
Online reports claim that the strain has an earthy, pine scent and a woody, citrus taste. For its high concentrations of the cannabinoid THCV, which preliminary studies suggest has energizing and appetite-suppressing properties, Doug’s Varin is prized.
Due to its rarity, little is known about how to grow it; all that is known is that Doug’s Varin grows similarly to other Sativa plants, according to Dougie’s Farm. Given that, it ought to thrive in a warm, dry environment both inside and outside. In eight to nine weeks, it should flower, and by late October, it should be ready for harvest. The resulting buds have brownish yellow pistils and gleaming trichomes, and they are bright green in color.
